Apply PRIIA Like A Pro!
|
*Before applying any mineral makeup, it's critical to make sure you've prepped your canvas (face) properly! Always cleanse, tone, hydrate and apply your SPF first in order to get THE BEST makeup application possible. In need of some great skin care solutions? Check out PRIIA's natural & organic skin care selections!
- PRIME TIME: If you have combination to oily skin, first apply a thin layer of HydraPrime™ oil-control primer using our all-over Spa Luxe Powder Buffer Brush. Only a small amount of product is needed to reduce shine all day long...less is more! Tap off any excess product from the brush prior to application.
- UNDER EYE CONCEALING: If you have dark under eye circles, apply the appropriate shade of Creamy Mineral Under Eye Concealer using our Oval Taklon Concealer Brush. Start from the inside corner of the eye and work outward. Leave approximately 1/8 inch between the concealed area and your lower lash line. Be sure to blend well not leaving any excess product behind.
- FOUNDATION APPLICATION: After conducting a proper foundation "stripe test", dispense a small amount of your perfect shade of Essential Cover Loose Mineral Foundation™ into the lid of the jar. Using our Flat Top Foundation Brush, swirl the brush around the lid. Tap off any excess foundation back into the lid and then turn the brush over and tap the bottom of the handle against the palm of your hand. This step is called 'loading your brush'.
Starting at the outside edges of your face, gently 'stamp' the brush on your skin and then go back and blend downward in one direction. This is our signature STAMP & BLEND technique. Go back and repeat this process working toward the inside of the face until you reach your desired coverage amount. Be sure to blend well into the hairline and down onto the neck and decollete` area. There's no need for rigorous buffing- gentle downward blending is all you have to do with PRIIA™.
- CONCEALER FOR THE FACE: If you have any blemishes or skin imperfections that you want more coverage for, use our Creamy Mineral Face Concealer. Apply a small amount to problem areas with our Oval Taklon Concealer Brush. With a clean finger, gently 'stipple' or pat any concealed areas in order to blend out the edges and 'melt' the product onto the skin.
- SET IT: If you have combination to oily skin, you may want to 'set' your mineral foundation with either another light layer of HydraPrime™ or if you have dry skin, use a thin layer of BEHAVE™ Finishing Powder. If you have used any concealer on your face or under eye area, you should 'set' the concealer with a very thin layer of BEHAVE™ Finishing powder using our Spa Luxe Powder Buffer Brush.

- BRONZER: If you do not plan on using bronzer, you can skip this step. First, dispense only a small amount of Vacation In A Jar™ into the lid. Next, use either the Spa Luxe Powder Buffer Brush or the Spa Luxe Jumbo Kabuki Brush and dip into the lid of the jar with the dispensed product; swirl the head of your brush around. *Only use a small amount of product as it is very concentrated and pigmented. Tap off any excess product back into the lid and then turn the brush over and tap the handle against the palm of your hand. This technique is called 'loading your brush'. Lightly sweep (do not stamp & blend) the brush along the center of the forehead, the bridge of the nose and tops of the cheek bones. The goal is to achieve a look as if the sun had naturally "kissed" your face. Be sure to also apply Vacation In A Jar™ down onto the neck and decollete´ areas to avoid any line of demarcation between the face and the rest of the body. TIP: Allow the color to mix with the natural oils of your skin approximately 5 minutes before applying more product. You may find that more product isn't necessary once the pigments have begun to oxidize with your skin's natural pH.
- BLUSH: To achieve a natural-looking touch of color, apply any one of our CheekWhisperz™ Loose Mineral Blush colors to the 'apples' of your cheeks. First, dispense only a small amount of blush into the lid of the jar. Next, use our Spa Luxe Blush Brush and dip into the lid of the jar with the dispensed product; swirl the head of your brush around. *Only use a small amount of product as our blushes are very concentrated and pigmented. Tap off any excess product back into the lid and then turn the brush over and tap the handle against the palm of your hand. This technique is called 'loading your brush'. Swirl the brush lightly onto the apples of your cheeks (just smile to find them!) in a circular motion. To blend out any excess color, simply sweep the brush back and forth from the apples of your cheeks to your hairline. TIP: If you've applied too much color, simply tone it down by applying a sheer dusting of BEHAVE™ Finishing Powder over the area.

- EYE SHADOW: For a complete tutorial for applying eye shadows according to your personal eye shape, please visit our COLOR 101 STUDIO. For a Basic Eye Look, first apply a highlight shade with our Spa Luxe Eye Shadow Brush. After loading the brush, gently sweep it under the brow bone and across the entire lid. Your color choice for a highlighter can either be matte or shimmery. The more matte the color is, the more subtle your look will be. If you choose a shimmery highlight color, the effect will be more dramatic. TIP: To make the eyes appear more open and awake-looking, apply your highlight shade to the inner corner of the eyes by your tear duct but not in it. Next choose a midtone color (usually more of a neutral, matte color but not always). Now take the Spa Luxe Tapered Crease Brush and apply a midtone shade to the crease area of the lid. Working from the outside and moving up toward the brow bone but not all the way, apply this color by sweeping it back and forth, like a windshield wiper. Be sure to blend well. Lastly apply your accent color (usually a color that is the deepest of all 3 shades being applied) with our Spa Luxe Eye Shadow Brush by blending it from the top lash line from the outside corner of the eye, working inward. Next, apply the color up into the crease, starting at the outer corner and working inward. By applying your accent color over your midtone, you create the illusion of 'depth' to the eye. TIP: For a totally natural eye look, use only a highlight and midtone color. This look is most appropriate for daytime.
- BROWS: Choose the appropriate BROWZ NOW™ Mineral Brow Definer color according to your hair color. For help choosing a shade, please visit the COLOR 101 STUDIO. Using a clean spatula, dispense a small amount of product onto a clean palette or paper towel. TIP: To avoid cross-contamination, Never dip your brushes directly into any product jars. Take the Spa Luxe Angled Liner Brush and dip it into the dispensed product. Apply the product in short, feathery, hair-like strokes angled in the same direction as the hair growth. Using the Spa Luxe Lash/Brow Spoolie Brush, gently comb through the brows in the same direction as the hair growth. This will help distribute the brow color more evenly and keep an unruly hairs in place. TIP: Never draw on a solid, hard-looking line. The key to natural-looking brows is to use a light hand with short, wispy strokes that imitate short little hairs.

- Eye Liner: Using a coordinating Eye Linez™ Natural Eye Liner color, begin at the outside corner of the eye, drawing short, feathery strokes, connecting each one as you move toward the inside corner of the eye. Next, use our Spa Luxe Liner/Smudger Brush to blend the line completely and work it into the top lash line. Using this same brush, apply either the same shade or a complimentary shade of eye shadow on top of the eye liner. This will help to 'set' your liner and give it a more natural look. It will also help correct any mistakes you may have made with the eye liner. For the lower lash line, we suggest using the same brush with any leftover eye shadow to define this area. It's much softer looking than using the liner directly. TIP: Always keep your pencils sharpened for the best application. When sharpening your liners, we suggest using a high-quality STEEL-BLADED sharpener as opposed to aluminum blades. Please note: Our liners DO NOT sharpen well with aluminum blade sharpeners. Please only use a steel-bladed sharpener with our liner products. We also suggest putting our
liner(s) in the freezer for approximately 15 minutes BEFORE sharpening.

- Lip Liner: We suggest using our Lip Linez™ Natural Lip Liner to outline and fill in your lips PRIOR to applying another lip product such as lip gloss or lipstick. Doing so will prevent your lip color from 'feathering' and 'bleeding' outside your natural lip line. TIP: Prior to applying any lip products, be sure your lips are exfoliated well and hydrated in order to achieve a smooth and long-wearing application. Starting at your top lip, draw a "V" in the center curve of the lip known as the "cupid's bow". Then, starting at the outside corners of the top lip, draw short, feathery strokes to meet at the "V". For the lower lip, first line at the center curve. Then, starting at the outside corners, draw short, feathery strokes again meeting at the center. Finally, apply your favorite lipstick or lip gloss. Consider using PRIIA's About2Pout Natural Lip Gloss or Pucker Upz Lip Infusions for a beautiful pop of color. TIP: Be sure to fill in the lips with liner so that if your lipstick or gloss wears off, you're not left with just an outline.

- TO COMPLETE YOUR LOOK: Lastly, curl your lashes and then apply your favorite brand of mascara to really open up your eyes. Remember to clean your makeup brushes at least once per week with a gentle, sulphate-free brush shampoo. In between regular washings, you can use a quick-drying brush spray to remove build-up. For complete instructions on properly caring for your brushes, please read our BRUSH CARE tutorial. Lastly, always clean your jar lids with alcohol (rather than water) to sanitize and remove any product build-up.
