Kelley Maddison, L.E. is a seasoned veteran in the fashion and beauty industry with over 14 years of experience.  She is a licensed esthetician and makeup artist specializing in anti-aging and  problematic skin types, plus she holds an additional Level 1 certification in the field of medical esthetics.

Kelley has taken mineral makeup to an entirely new level by creating a natural line of cosmetic products that lets a woman's true inner beauty shine through without ever looking overly made-up or artificial.  PRIIA's cosmetic products will work on all skin types but are especially beneficial to those dealing with mild to moderate acne and other problematic skin challenges such as rosacea.

"My fascination (more like an obsession) with makeup began when I was a little girl.  I would sit on my mother's bed and watch her apply all kinds of products to her face.  I was always amazed when she was finished because she looked like a brand-new mom!

When I was a teen, I began to develop acne.  Being embarrassed by what my skin looked like, I would literally pack on the makeup to hide my flaws.  Little did I know at the time that the products I was using on my skin just made my skin condition worse.  In my junior year of college, my acne flared up terribly after trying a skin care line recommended by a friend.  It had gotten to the point that the acne became cystic and I had to go on a course of Accutane for a year.  It was awful; my face hurt all the time.  Once again, I continued to slather on the makeup in order to cover all of my imperfections.

Eventually, the acne settled down a little.  However, my skin was in terrible condition by this point.  It was very congested, dull-looking and very unbalanced.  Late one night,  I had seen a television commercial for a  *new* type of cosmetic product called MINERAL MAKEUP.  I was so excited!  I really thought this product was going to be the answer to my skin care prayers.  Immediately, I placed my order and began stalking my mail carrier until the products arrived.  My excitement about this mineral makeup product quickly turned into disappointment when my skin began to itch and sting like crazy after only having it on my face for a few minutes.  'How could this be?', I thought. The infomercial basically claimed this product was nothing short of a makeup miracle for women; especially those with problematic and sensitive skin. 

At that point, I gave up.  I went back to using my traditional cosmetics and just dealt with the breakouts as they would arise.  Years later, I became a licensed esthetician and my world just seemed to open up.  I FINALLY began to understand my acne and how product ingredients play a HUGE role in how my skin looks and behaves. 

I opened a private skin care practice called, Esthetically Yourz, Inc. and decided to research different makeup brands to retail to my customers.  Eventually, my search led me to mineral makeup...again.  However, this time I knew NOT to choose a brand that contained bismuth oxychloride because that's what caused my skin to itch and sting uncontrollably when I first tried mineral makeup.

I must admit, using mineral makeup took some getting used to.  Plus, the brand I was using just didn't seem to hold up well with my combination/oily skin.  The product was 'sliding off' within a few hours of application.  Clients of mine who had dry skin with breakouts complained that it made their skin look chalky and feel 'heavy' when they tried to achieve the coverage they needed.  It was at this point that I decided to begin researching how to formulate mineral makeup in such a way that it was still natural yet held up to the challenges of different skin types; especially those who experience breakouts.  PRIIA™ Cosmetics began to take shape.

I knew I wanted my products to contain healthy and natural ingredients, be long-wearing, provide a beautiful, luminous coverage and be beneficial to the skin- all at the same time.  Believe me, it was no easy task.  PRIIA's products took well over a year to formulate and become something that I would be proud to be associated with.
